Wine Fair Opening Day Sparkles with Thrilling Events |
With more than 1,060 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2016 is a brilliant world of fine wines. This year Croatia, Finland and Philippines participate for the first time and new pavilions have been organised by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation; Bulgarian Wine Export Association; Economic and Information Technology Commission of Guizhou Province, Chinese mainland; Fukushima and Kyushu Prefectures of Japan; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia; FENADEGAS, Portugal and the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States.
The broadening of the exhibitor profile through these new participants has created an even more colourful atmosphere for the fair and will introduce buyers to beverages products they may not have encountered before.

Product Highlights from the new pavilion & exhibitor |
A Salute to Slovenian Winemaking |
|
Visitors could learn much about the wines of the Republic of Slovenia, which is firmly in the spotlight this year. Located in southern Central Europe, Slovenia enjoys a climate of diverse geography with three microclimates and shares the northern latitudes of 45 and 47 degrees with the world’s most renowned and prolific wine producing regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy and northern Rhône. About 70% of Slovenia’s wines have attained that premium level of quality.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia has organised a pavilion to showcase fine Slovenian wines that are less familiar to buyers in Hong Kong and Asia. Buyers will be able to sample the wines and find out more about the climate and terroir that are conducive to viticulture in Slovenia.

The Beer Zone is the place to see and sample craft beers from artisan breweries, a trend which is sweeping the world.
