Corks Pop on Hong Kong's Major Wine Show!

Exhibitors are gearing up for the second edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2009. Recruitment has been strong, with the number of participants rising significantly to over 520 from 34 countries and regions this year.

International Flavours
An exciting new initiative is the establishment of France as the show's Partner Country. Buyers can try numerous quality and premium French wines from different regions including Burgundy, St. Emilion, Alsace, Bordeaux and Lyon.

Also enhancing the international flavour of the show are exhibitors from Argentina, Australia, Chile, the Chinese mainland, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Moldova, New Zealand, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, the United States, Uruguay and more.

Fair Highlights
Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition - the results of the inaugural contest will be announced at a cocktail reception on 4 November. The competition is run in partnership with the prestigious London-based International Wine & Spirit Competition, and includes a category for "Best Wine Produced in China" along with "Best Wine" awards for Japan, India and Thailand.
"The Most Beloved Wine & Spirits" Voting Game - All visitors can participate in the voting game for The Most Beloved Wine & Spirits throughout the fair, with a chance to win a 'Hamilton' timepiece (total value over HK$23,000). The award presentation will take place on 6 November. Simply pick up a voting form at the fair entrance.
Master Classes and Wine-Tasting Sessions - these events add zest to the fair experience.
Seminars and Wine Industry Conference - Updating visitors on the latest in the wine world are the seminar series, featuring a wide range of topics, including Asia Top Sommelier Summit on 5 November, and the Wine Industry Conference, with a theme of Hong Kong - Asian Wine Hub, taking place on 4 November.

Public Day
The final day of the fair, on 6 November, will be open to the public. Exhibitors get a wonderful opportunity here to market test new products and obtain immediate feedback from end-consumers.
