Asia is booming in terms of wine consumption and investment and Hong Kong is the trading hub of this great market. The fourth edition of HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair promises to yield a bountiful harvest for international buyers.

Power in numbers |

|
Almost 700 exhibitors came from 30 countries & regions for the 2010 fair and the fame and reputation of this fair continues to grow. In 2011 buyers can expect to see wines from the major wine-producing regions. Over 14,000 trade buyers from 67 countries and regions attended in 2010. |

Partner country |
|
For 2011, the Partner Country is Italy, the world's largest winemaker. Italy has been a strong supporter of the fair since its inception and last year the Italian participation increased to 116 exhibitors. In 2010, Italy exported wine worth US$20 million into Hong Kong, a growth of almost 45% over the previous year. |

Generating interest |
|
The fair promotes wine to a large public visitor cohort. Over 14,000 member of the public learnt more about wine at the 2010 fair, and many participated in selecting the 'Most Beloved Wine' through a voting game. |

Creating excitement |
|
The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition has developed into a prestigious and influential event. As the first authentically Asian wine competition, as well as Asia's largest, its outcome carries enormous weight. Click here to see the 2010 competition results. |

Furthering knowledge |
|
International experts gather at the fair for the Wine Industry Conference. The fair is also the venue for the Asia-Oceanic Top Sommelier Summit. Numerous forums, seminars, tasting sessions and master classes are held, while the fair's Wine Gallery is a focal point of the fairground in which visitors can learn more about wine. |

Promoting trade in wine |
|
Many factors have contributed to Hong Kong's emergence as a wine trading and distribution hub in Asia, including the abolition of duty on wine and beer, and the creation of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, both in 2008. Hong Kong's proximity to, and unique relationship with, the Chinese mainland are also important to international buyers. |
