Decoding Wine Quality through Wine Courses and Tasting
Asia Wine Academy is returning to the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair with its successful debut in 2017, where both industry professionals and discerning consumers can immerse in the rich aroma of wine knowledge with notable Masters of Wine.

Jeannie Cho Lee
is the first Asian Master of Wine (MW) and an award-winning author, editor, wine critic, judge and educator. Jeannie has been a professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) where she helped to launch the Master of Science (MSc) in International Wine Management program since 2012.

Sarah Heller
is a content creator, visual artist and wine expert based in Hong Kong and at 30 is Asia’s youngest Master of Wine. Her educational wine videos have reached over 3 million students and she writes for several publications.
In conjunction with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM), two intensive courses based on the MSc in International Wine
Management programme offered by SHTM will be conducted by Jeannie Cho Lee MW and Sarah Heller MW. Themed “Seeking Greatness - Decoding Wine Quality”, the highly rewarding programme provides depth and breath of wine knowledge, along with the opportunity to taste a wide range of high quality wines. This year’s focus is on the classic wine styles of France and Italy contrasted with high quality fine wines from emerging regions.

Conducted by Sarah Heller MW, the one-and-a-half-hour course addresses on judging wine quality according to style or regional context, with Italian fine wines as highlighted examples. Conducted by Jeannie Cho Lee MW, the
one-and-a-half-hour session will focus on French
fine wines, defining wine quality on style and
regional basis.
