Inspiration to Take Your Wine & Spirits Business to a New Level!
Prepare to be inspired by the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair! Here buyers can bring new buzz to their business thanks to myriad opportunities to meet innovative suppliers, find exciting new products and upgrade knowledge of the global wine and spirits industry.

The show brings the wine world together under one roof: in 2014, it featured more than 1,000 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions, including all the world’s major wine-producing areas as well as up-and-coming areas. It drew nearly 20,000 trade visitors from 75 countries and regions, attracting international buyers to come to visit the fair.

Portugal as the Partnering Country of Wine Fair 2015
The partner country for the 2015 edition of the show is Portugal – a country with a rich heritage in wine-making. There will be a Portugal national pavilion, and there will also be a focus on Portugal in many of the fair’s wine events and activities.

Where the Wine World Meets

Hong Kong has a long history as a centre of international trade, and buyers from all corners of the world find it a welcoming and efficient place to do business.

That is particularly applicable for wine industry: most notably, wine enjoys a duty-free status in the city and wine-related businesses are thriving. Hong Kong’s imports of wine in 2014 rose 4.5% and amounted to 52.4 million litres in volume and 5.1% in value to HK$8.4 billion, while total exports grew 15.9% by volume to 22.2 million litres and 52.1% by value to HK$2.4 billion over the same period.

It’s not just about statistics, however. Hong Kong is also a cosmopolitan city where people enjoy the finer things in life, including fine wines and quality spirits, and there is a strong culture of wine appreciation. Its East-meets-West atmosphere makes it a fascinating place where ideas are exchanged and new initiatives forged. Buyers can take advantage of the fact that suppliers find the city a great location for launching new products.

Uniquely, Hong Kong also provides connections between the Chinese mainland and the rest of the world. The show provides the perfect connections for buyers looking for new wines from the mainland, as well as other Asian countries.

Highlights:
The Wine Industry Conference brings top notch speakers together to impart their knowledge of key developments in the world of wine;
Networking Reception is a wonderful opportunity for buyers to mix with industry players, representatives of the country pavilions and international media;
Ice Bar – The kings of mixology demonstrate their skills and creativity at the Ice Bar, a popular spot for the exchange information and ideas on spirits, as well as for networking.
The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition continues to go from strength to strength. Offering an Asian perspective on wine, and run in conjunction with London-based International Wine & Spirit Competition, it includes categories such as Asian food and wine pairing awards, and an award for the best Chinese-produced wine. The judging panel comprises top palates from major Asian cities and the international VIP judge. Click here to learn more.

Much More than Just Wine
Although the show’s major focus is on wine – there’s much, much more to be found at the Hong Kong event. The fair itself is a cocktail of top-quality, diversified ingredients. The Whisky and Spirits Zone and the Whisky and Brandy Bar proved very popular with buyers at the 2014 show, and return again this year to cater to the growing market for spirits. Also well represented are producers of sake, fortified wines and liqueurs at Ice Bar.
The fair also presents the opportunity for buyers to update knowledge on product and marketing developments through a rich programme of events, including grand tastings, master classes, wine tastings, cocktail demonstration and seminars. There is always something exciting happening somewhere in the fairground: over 70 events featured at the 2014 edition!

Valuable Market Feedback
The public day, on the final day of the fair, is a hugely popular event, where trade buyers can gauge trends and talk directly to end-consumers.
