| Taste new possibilities in wine, spirits, beer and more |
The wine scene in Asia is sparkling with potential for growth, and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair is the platform that promotes the wine trade. The 9th edition will be held from 10-12 November at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Though Asia is its home ground, the fair is truly international. Buyers will see wines from the classic wine-producing regions of the world as well as exciting new winemakers of non-traditional origins and organic wines. In 2016, more than 1,000 quality international exhibitors will participate the fair. In 2015, the fair attracted over 20,300 visitors from 75 countries and regions to attend.

| Hong Kong’s vibrant wine trade in a tax-free environment and the support from superb financial, communications and logistical facilities. The result is a space in which suppliers from all over the world offer buyers an enormous range of wine and spirits. Proximity and cultural relations with the Chinese mainland and other Asian centres make Hong Kong the ideal catalyst for business expansion in the region. Hong Kong imports and exports of wine increased respectively by 20.9% and 23% in terms of quantity in 2015 compare to 2014, and 27.6% and 95.8% in value. |

| Buyers find added value in a wonderful diversity of beverage products. Spirits, sake and beer are all on offer in their great variety. In the Beer Zone, buyers can see well established beers from global brands as well as craft beer from small breweries. They can visit the Ice Bar for networking and exploring the spirits and liquors from which great cocktails are made. The Whisky & Brandy Bar is a cozy place where buyers can gather knowledge and contacts to aid their sourcing of these most popular spirits. |
| Taste the wine, meet the winemakers |
Over the course of the fair, buyers can take part in grand tastings, master classes, wine tastings, cocktail demonstrations and seminars. Winemakers and wine experts are on hand to discuss wines and wine markets with buyers. At social functions such as the Gala Wine Dinner there are more opportunities to meet with key industry players.
Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair is the venue for several prestigious events. These include the Wine Industry Conference and the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Creating a wider market for wine is one of the fair’s objectives. The Wine Gallery features a display of wine literature and other wine-related accessories, and the public are invited to visit the fair on its closing day. |
